Arrested for five-counts attempted murder on law enforcement.

In a joint effort involving various law enforcement agencies, Sheriff’s Office deputies have arrested a Miami-Dade County fugitive for five-counts attempted murder on a law enforcement officer.

The suspect was arrested at about 12:45 p.m. on Wednesday, September 26, 2012.

The suspect was arrested at McMullen Booth Road and Crest Drive in unincorporated Clearwater.

According to investigators, Hialeah Police Department requested the assistance of the FDLE after they received information that the suspect, identified as 23-year-old Andy Roman, was somewhere in Central Florida. FDLE developed information that linked the suspect to being in Hillsborough County. Subsequently, Hillsborough Sheriff’s Office received a tip that indicated the suspect was in Pinellas County, specifically in the area of Enterprise Road and US19, and passed the information to Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office.

Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office deputies, assisted by HCSO, began looking for the suspect, who was considered to be armed and dangerous. The suspect was spotted at a Burger King located at SR 580 and US19 and was seen entering a vehicle, a blue Dodge Durango. The vehicle, driven by a female,  pulled out of the Burger King parking lot.  Deputies then conducted a felony stop at McMullen Booth and Crest Drive in unincorporated Clearwater. Deputies ordered Roman out of the vehicle. He complied and was arrested without further incident.

The driver is being interviewed by detectives.

Hialeah Police detectives took custody of the vehicle.

Roman will be booked into the Pinellas County Jail. His booking photo will be available after the booking process is completed.
