Charges: One Count of Unlawful Sexual Activity With Certain Minors
The victim is a 16-year-old male who is known to the suspect. Per Fl. Statute, 119.071(2)(h)1 no further information will be released that would tend to identify the victim.
Detectives have arrested a former teacher for Unlawful Sexual Activity With Certain Minors.
The suspect was arrested on Monday, August 18, 2014. The incident occurred on or around July 5, 2014.
The crime occurred at an undisclosed location in the St. Petersburg area.
Detectives have arrested a former teacher for Sexual Activity with a Minor. Detectives began their investigation on July 22, 2014, after it was discovered that the suspect and a 16-year-old student were having an inappropriate relationship.
According to detectives the suspect befriended the victim while she was a teacher at a private school in St. Petersburg. The suspect and the victim began texting each other via a phone application in mid-June. The two then began to meet up at various locations throughout Pinellas County. On or around July 5, 2014 it was disclosed that the victim and the suspect engaged in sexual activity at an undisclosed location.
Through various investigative techniques the suspect was identified as 39-year-old Elisha Joy Kingsley.
Detectives assigned to the Crimes Against Children Unit arrested Kingsley on Monday, August 18, 2014.
Kingsley has been charged with one count of Unlawful Sexual Activity With Certain Minors.
Detectives have advised that Kingsley is a former teacher and had frequent contact with children; therefore there could be other victims.
