Deputies assigned to the Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) are investigating a crash involving an agency vehicle in Largo.

The crash occurred in the area of Ulmerton Road and 113th Street in Largo.

The crash occurred on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at approximately 11:48 a.m.

Deputies assigned to the Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) are investigating a crash involving an agency vehicle that occurred on Ulmerton Road and 113th Street in Largo.

At approximately 11:48 a.m. on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 Forensic Specialist Linda Scire was traveling eastbound on Ulmerton Road in an agency issued 2006 Ford Econoline. At the same time, the driver of a 1999 Saturn, traveling westbound on Ulmerton turned left in front of the van, causing the vehicles to collide.

Scire was transported to a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the Saturn, identified as 90-year-old Francis Barrett was not injured.

It does not appear that speed nor alcohol/drug impairment played a factor in the crash.

The investigation continues.
