What:
Partnering with the City of Seminole and Lake Seminole Square, the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office will be collecting new and gently used shoes and new socks for children in need as part of the “Heart and Sole Shoe Drive.” Deputies will then deliver the shoes and socks to the Florida Sheriff’s Youth Ranches.

When:
The “Heart and Sole Shoe Drive” will be held on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

The “Heart and Sole Shoe Drive” will be held at Lake Seminole Square located at 8333 Seminole Blvd. in Seminole.

How/Why:
Sheriff’s Deputies from the Community Policing Unit and Sheriff’s Office volunteers are partnering with the City of Seminole and Lake Seminole Square to collect new and gently used shoes and new socks for children in need as part of the “Heart and Sole Shoe Drive.”

The “Heart and Sole Shoe Drive” will be held on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Lake Seminole Square located at 8333 Seminole Blvd. in Seminole.  New and gently used shoes and new socks for a girl or boy between the ages of 3 and 18 will be collected during the event. The goal is to fill a patrol van with shoes and socks.

Shoe and sock collections have already begun and will continue throughout the event tomorrow. Once all of the shoes and socks have been collected, deputies from the Community Policing Unit will deliver them to the Florida Sheriff’s Youth Ranches. Some of the shoes and socks will go directly to children at the youth ranches. Others will be available for purchase at the Florida Sheriff’s Opportunity Store.
