Detectives assigned to the Robbery/Homicide Unit are currently investigating a homicide at a private residence in Dunedin.

Deputies arrived to the home to conduct a welfare check at approximately 5:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 7, 2014.

The incident took place at a private residence located at 1658 Summit Way in Dunedin.

Detectives assigned to the Robbery/Homicide Unit are currently investigating a homicide at 1658 Summit Way, Dunedin.

Detectives responded to this location at approximately 5:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 7, 2014 to conduct a welfare check after being contacted by the Clearwater Police Department. Clearwater Police Officers received concerning information from the suspect during a routine traffic stop in the Clearwater Beach area overnight. During the welfare check, Pinellas County Deputies found the body of the victim inside the home, deceased with blunt upper body trauma. 

Detectives have identified the victim as 50-year-old David G. Elsey. Elsey is said to have met the suspect online recently.

The suspect is currently in custody and has been identified as 26-year-old Arthur Michael DeCarvalho. Charges are pending at this time.
