Victim:
The victim is a female under the age of 16 who is known to the suspect. Per FSST 119.071(2)(h)1 no further information will be released that would tend to identify the victim.

What:  A St. Petersburg man (32) was arrested for Lewd and Lascivious Battery on a victim under 16.

Detectives believe there are more victims.

Where:  The Battery occurred at the suspect’s residence at 6864 38th Avenue North in St. Petersburg.

When:  The incident took place on 4/9/2014.

How/Why:

A St. Petersburg man was arrested for Lewd and Lascivious Battery on a victim under 16 today.

Leonard Bame (32) committed the Battery on the victim at his residence on the evening of 4/9/2014.

During the investigation, it was discovered Bame met the victim through his employment as a promoter for teen parties held at Café Charlie in Clearwater.  The victim, along with other juveniles, assisted Bame in the promotion of these parties.  Bame would often pick up the juveniles from school and take them to various locations to promote the gatherings.

Due to his frequent contact with children and other information obtained during the investigation, it is believed there may be more victims.  Should anyone have additional information on this case or another, they are asked to contact Cpl. Bame is currently being held at the Pinellas County Jail on a $20,000 bond.
