What:
The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, the Pinellas Park Police Department, the St. Petersburg Police Department and the Gulfport Police Department are hosting an exciting and educational experience for the youth in Pinellas County. The Academy offers youth between the ages of 14 and 18 insights into how law enforcement performs their duties and how law enforcement serves the community. Register NOW to participate in the Academy training opportunity.

When:
Registration is taking place now through June 4, 2014. Applications must be submitted by June 4th; and participants will be notified by June 18th, 2014.

The Academy schedule is as follows:
Week 1 July 22-24
Week 2 July 29-31
Week 3 August 5-7
Time 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Graduation August 7 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The Academy is open to young men and women between the ages of 14 and 18. They must pass a background check. They must be enrolled and attending high school in Fall of 2014.

Some of the training involves practical exercises and a hold harmless agreement that must be signed. Links to the application and hold harmless agreements are below. The cost for the Academy is $20.

Lunch will only be provided on the last day. On all other dates, lunch is the participant’s responsibility. Youth will need transportation to their respective Explore Post site for the day.
