14-028 Detectives Warn Parents About A Suspect Acting Inappropriately Towards Children Near Local Schools

What:
Detectives with the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office and Clearwater Police Department are currently investigating multiple incidents where an adult male made contact with students near schools. The man reportedly made lewd comments to the students and acted inappropriately.

Where:
The incidents occurred near different schools in the Central and North areas of Pinellas County. 

When:
The first incident is reported to have occurred in October 2013 with the most recent incident occurring within the last week.

How/Why:
Detectives with the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office and Clearwater Police Department are currently investigating multiple incidents where an adult male in a pickup truck made contact with students near schools. The man reportedly made lewd comments to the students and acted inappropriately. The incidents occurred near different schools in the Central and North areas of Pinellas County.

According to detectives, the first incident is reported to have occurred in October 2013 with the most recent incident having occurred within the last week.

Detectives do not have a clear description of the suspect at this time. Parents are urged to speak with their children and advise them that if they see or hear of something like this occurring to please immediately tell an adult.
