Members of the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office Explorer Post# 900 recently participated in the January 2014 Florida Association of Police Explorers Delegates Meeting and Pistol Competition.

When:
The January 2014 Florida Association of Police Explorers Delegates Meeting and Pistol Competition took place on Friday, January 31, 2014 through Sunday, February 2, 2014.

Where:
The January 2014 Florida Association of Police Explorers Delegates Meeting and Pistol Competition was held at the Port Malabar Rifle and Pistol Club in Brevard County, Florida.

Why/How:
Twelve members of the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office Explorer Post #900 recently participated in the Florida Association of Police Explorer’s Delegate’s training event and pistol competition. The event was hosted by the Palm Bay Police Department and took place on Friday, January 31st through Sunday, February 2nd.

Explorer Posts from around the state met for a full day of training, which consisted of several different scenarios covering many law enforcement topics, including a hanging investigation, traffic stops, a disorderly subject and building searches.  The pistol competition was held at the Port Malabar Rifle and Pistol Club.

During the individual shooting competition Explorer Captain Spencer Shaw won 2nd place in the Sharpshooter Division and Explorer Max Dulski won 3rd place in the Marksman Division. In the Tyro Division, Explorer Sergeant Zoe Gambel placed 2nd and Explorer Timea Jozsa placed 3rd. Explorer Sergeant Kelley Butterfield was the Overall Match Winner.

Explorer Captain Spencer Shaw, Explorer Sergeant Kelley Butterfield and Explorer Max Dulski and Explorer Sergeant Lauren Paschall participated in the Team Shooting Event and took 1st Place Overall!

We are very proud of the efforts of our members of Post 900 during this Delegate’s competition.  These young people have proven that a high level of commitment pays off!  Congratulations Explorer Post 900!
