14-019 Deputies Respond To Single Vehicle Crash In Seminole; Michigan Man Injured

Deputies responded to a single vehicle crash in Seminole. One man was injured. He sustained non-life threatening injuries after he crashed into a light post. The crash may have occurred due to a medical condition.

The crash occurred at about 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 1, 2014.

The crash occurred at Bay Pines Boulevard between 95th and 100th Way.

According to deputies, 73-year-old Julius Allen Balogh was traveling eastbound on Bay Pines Boulevard, when he lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a light pole on the south side of the road. The light pole cracked and fell onto the vehicle.

Balogh was transported to Bayfront Medical Center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

At this time, deputies say Balogh may have lost control of the vehicle due to a medical condition.

Deputies say Duke Energy responded, took down power and removed the pole from atop the car. Eastbound traffic was interrupted for approximately two hours.

The investigation continues.
