Charges have been filed against James Ellul for the death of his neighbor, Jerold Lester, Jr.

Ellul has been charged with Murder in the Second Degree and will be transported to the Pinellas County Jail once he is released from the hospital. A booking photo will be provided once the booking process has been completed.

Detectives are investigating a homicide that was the result of a physical altercation between two neighbors. Two male neighbors began to fight, both were injured in the altercation, one male died of his injuries.

The incident occurred at the Sunshine Mobile Home Park located at 7403 46th Avenue North in unincorporated St. Petersburg.

The incident took place at approximately 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 20, 2013.

Pinellas County detectives are currently conducting a Homicide investigation at the Sunshine Mobile Home Park located at 7403 46th Avenue North in unincorporated St. Petersburg.

At approximately 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 20, 2013, an altercation between two males occurred in front of lot# 1 in the mobile home park. A verbal argument began between 55-year-old Jerold Lester Jr. and 63-year-old James Ellul. The verbal argument then escalated and became physical. At some point during the physical altercation, Ellul grabbed a large knife and stabbed Lester multiple times in his side. Lester’s girlfriend, 46-year-old Kimberly Bordner, attempted to break up the fight and was also stabbed in the arm by Ellul.

Lester was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and died. Bordner and Ellul were also transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

According to detectives, Lester and Ellul have had an ongoing dispute over the noise coming from Lester’s motorcycle being driven inside the mobile home park.

Detectives are still interviewing witnesses at this time.

The investigation continues.
