What:
Detectives are investigating an apparent accidental shooting in Seminole. The juvenile victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The suspect arrested has prior felony convictions from California. Due to his felon status, he has been charged with Felony Possession of a Firearm.

The incident occurred at a private residence located at 14529 Anchorage Circle in Seminole.

When:
The incident occurred on Sunday, November 17, 2013 just before midnight.

How/Why:
Pinellas County Detectives are investigating an apparent accidental shooting in Seminole that occurred overnight at a private residence located at 14529 Anchorage Circle in Seminole.

According to detectives, the victim, 17-year-old Taylor Titus left his home at approximately 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 17, 2013 without telling his caregivers. The victim returned home shortly before midnight. At the time of his arrival, his caregiver, 55-year-old James Wolf was preparing to go to sleep and had turned off all of the lights to the home. Wolf then heard a noise coming from the back of the home, grabbed his handgun and went to check his residence. Wolf noticed a subject near the backdoor and ordered him to freeze. The subject began to walk towards Wolf. Wolf then fired one shot, hitting the subject. When the subject stumbled towards Wolf, he realized the subject shot was 17-year-old Taylor. Taylor was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Wolf is a convicted felon for crimes he was found guilty of in California. Due to Wolf’s felon status, he was arrested and charged with Felon in Possession of Firearm. He was transported to the Pinellas County Jail without further incident. Wolf is also a registered sex offender.

The investigation continues.
