What:  Two members of the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office graduate the Florida Sheriffs Institute Commanders Academy in Tallahassee.

Where:  The academy and graduation were held at the Florida Public Safety Institute of Tallahassee Community College located in Tallahassee.

When:  The graduation was held on Friday, November 8, 2013.

How/Why:
The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office announces the graduation, today, of Captain David Danzig and Lieutenant Michael Leiner from the Florida Sheriffs Institute Commanders Academy. The academy was held at the Florida Public Safety Institute of Tallahassee Community College in Tallahassee.

The graduating class includes 30 command level personnel representing 21 agencies. The academy focused on law enforcement leadership, management skills and issues specific to the Sheriff’s Office. The class is used to prepare current supervisors for future command responsibilities within their agencies. The 64-hour course included a curriculum of budgeting and finance, emergency preparedness, discipline and labor relations, jail management and working with both social and traditional media.

We’d like to congratulate Captain Danzig and Lieutenant Leiner on the completion of this course.
