What:
Detectives assigned to the Special Victims Unit have arrested a Pinellas Park man for possessing child pornography after he admitted to downloading and sharing the child pornography via his computer.

When:
The suspect was arrested on Wednesday, October 9, 2013.

Where:
Detectives arrested the suspect at his private residence in Pinellas Park.

Why/How:
According to detectives, an undercover internet investigation that ran from June 10, 2013 to August 31, 2013 led to the arrest of a Pinellas Park man.

Through their investigation detectives assigned to the Special Victims Unit, were able to identify a potential suspect that was sharing child pornography videos via the Internet. Detectives obtained a search warrant which was served at the residence of the suspect on Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at approximately 6: 30 a.m. The suspect has been identified as 22-year-old Aaron Barnhart.

Barnhart was interviewed by detectives and admitted to the allegations. Barnhart was arrested and transported to the Pinellas County Jail without further incident. Barnhart has been charged with 11 counts of Possession of Child Pornography and 1 count Promotion of Child Pornography. Downloaded material that was found while serving the search warrant is currently under review and additional charges are pending.

The investigation continues.
