Pinellas County Deputies have apprehended the suspect involved in last night’s traffic stop on the Belleair Causeway Bridge.
Suspect Robert Tebow was located by members of the Violent Crimes Task Force this evening in South Pasadena. He was taken into custody without incident

Deputies have identified the suspect from last night’s traffic stop. The attached surveillance footage was taken from a nearby convenience store just prior to the traffic stop.

During a traffic stop near the Belleair Causeway Bridge last night, the driver of the stopped vehicle fled on foot and jumped over the bridge’s railing. Deputies are actively searching for the suspect and following up on various leads at this time.
The traffic stop occurred at approximately 9:30 p.m. last night (9/24/2013)
Belleair Causeway Bridge
During a traffic stop on the Belleair Causeway Bridge last night the driver of the stopped vehicle exited his car and jumped over the bridge’s railing. Members of the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Unit, Flight Section, and Marine Unit actively searched for the suspect throughout the night. Also assisting in the search was the US Coast Guard and Florida Fish and Wildlife.
The traffic stop was initially conducted on the vehicle for Unlawful Speed. When the 2005 dark blue Dodge Durango came to a stop on the bridge, the deputy made contact with the white male driver and asked for identification and vehicle information.
As the deputy researched the information provided in his patrol car, the driver of the SUV exited his vehicle, ran to the railing of the bridge, then jumped over. An extensive search for the suspect was conducted, but the suspect remains at large at this time.
Deputies have developed various leads to the suspect’s where-abouts and are actively following up on them at this hour.
