What:
Detectives assigned to the Special Victims Unit have arrested a suspect for possessing child pornography after the suspect admitted to downloading and sharing the child pornography via his computer.

When:
The suspect was arrested on Wednesday, September 11, 2013.

Where:
The suspect was arrested at his place of residence. Per Florida Statute 119.071, the suspects address will not be released.

Why/How:
According to detectives, the arrest of the suspect is the result of an undercover internet investigation in Pinellas County. The investigation began in June of 2013.

Through their investigation detectives assigned to the Special Victims Unit, identified a potential suspect that was sharing child pornography videos via the Internet. Detectives obtained a search warrant which was served at the residence of the suspect on Wednesday, September 11, 2013.

Detectives interviewed the suspect, identified as 53-year-old Randy Lee Rosenberry, and he admitted to the allegations. Rosenberry’s computer was also found to contain downloaded material which is currently under review and additional charges are pending.

Rosenberry was arrested and transported to the Pinellas County Jail without further incident. Rosenberry has been charged with 12 counts of Sexual Performance by a Child (Possession of Child Pornography).

The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office is a member of the Central Florida Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

The investigation continues.
