Deputies responded to a near drowning in Pinellas Park. The 5-year-old victim has been taken to a local hospital for treatment of life threatening injuries.

Deputies responded to the near drowning at about 2:41 p.m. on Saturday, September 7, 2013.

Deputies responded to 6539 Bonnie Bay Circle N. Pinellas Park.

At approximately 2:41 p.m. on Saturday, September 7, 2013 deputies responded to a reported drowning at a private residence located at 6539 Bonnie Bay Circle N. Pinellas Park.

According to deputies, the victim was celebrating at a birthday party with about 30-40 people, some of which were swimming outside in the pool. During the party, another child noticed the victim in the pool, not moving.  The victim was taken out of the pool and 9-1-1 was called.

Lealman Fire Rescue arrived on scene and were able to revive the victim. The victim, identified as 5-year-old Cash’us Pashaun Elias, was transported to a local hospital via ambulance with life threatening injuries.

The near drowning does appear to be accidental and no charges are pending at this time.

The investigation continues.
