What:
Deputies assigned to the Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) are investigating a fatal crash involving a Toyota Tundra Truck Vs. Honda Motorcycle.

Where:
The accident took place on Bay Pines Blvd, near the entrance to the War Veterans Memorial Park in Seminole.

When:
The accident occurred at approximately 2:49 p.m. on Saturday, August 3, 2013.

How/Why:
Deputies assigned to the Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) are investigating a  fatal crash involving a Toyota Tundra Truck Vs. Honda Motorcycle. The accident took place on Bay Pines Blvd. near the entrance to the War Veterans Memorial Park in Seminole.

According to deputies, the driver of a 2002 Toyota Tundra, pulling a trailer with a Pontoon Boat was traveling westbound on Bay Pines Blvd. The Tundra was making a left turn into the entrance of the memorial park, when the driver of a 2004 Honda Motorcycle struck the passenger’s side of the Tundra.

The driver of the Honda motorcycle, identified as 20-year-old Justin Johnson, sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported via ambulance a local hospital where he later died. Johnson was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

The driver and four passengers of the Tundra were transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the incident.

The investigation continues.
