What:
Members of the Sheriff’s Office Explorer Post #900 will be recognized at an annual banquet for their accomplishments throughout the 2012-2013 year. Members of the Post 900 this year placed 1st overall at the Florida Association of Police Explorer’s State competition. The Sheriff’s Office instructors will also be recognized and thanked for their commitment to the program.

When:
Schedule:
Doors open at 5:30 p.m.
Dinner at 6:00 p.m.
Drill Presentation begins 6:30 p.m.  (Best time for media coverage begins)
Awards presentation at 7:00 p.m.

Where:
The event will take place at the Cafeteria/Banquet Room at the Pinellas County Criminal Justice Center at 14250 49th Street North in Clearwater

Why/How:
The members of the Explorer Post 900 will be recognized in various categories to include: the Explorer of the Year, Rookie of the Year, and Most Improved of the Year.

They will also receive awards for their accomplishments throughout the year in areas such as shooting, show, tenure, community service, law enforcement training, scenario competitions.

Their successes at the Florida Association of Police Explorer’s State Competition will also be acknowledged. Placements at the state competition included 1st Place overall; 1st place Honor Guard, 2nd place drill team and 4th place in shooting.

Explorer Post 900 currently has 45 members. The Explorer’s parents and family members have been invited to attend. The Explorers will demonstrate a drill scenario at the event.
