13-153 Deputies Arrest Man After He Leaves Child In Car While He Goes Into Strip Club

Victim is a three year old female who is know to the suspect. Per Florida Statute, no further information will be released that would tend to identify the victim.

What:
A Redington Beach man was arrested for child abuse after he left a three-year-old girl in the car unattended while he went into a strip club.

When:
The crime occurred at about 9:38 p.m. on July 14, 2013.

Where:
The crime occurred at the parking lot located at 16211 US Highway 19 North, (Drive Time Lot) in Clearwater.

Why/How:
When deputies arrived on scene, the child’s grandparents were already present and had removed the child from the vehicle. According to deputies, the suspect 41-year-old Monty R. Grow had driven the car into to the Drive Time parking lot and left the child unattended in the vehicle while he went into Diamond Dolls strip club.

Deputies say that as they were investigating the incident, Grow ran up to the car. He admitted to leaving the child unattended.  The child was uninjured.

Grow was arrested for child abuse.

The investigation continues.
