How/Why:

During that time the victim and the suspect, identified as 19-year-old Ashley Rose Clark, engaged in prostitution. Clark paid for the rooms and set up ads on Backpage.com. The victim would then pay Clark after each sexual encounter with a client.

A PC Affidavit was issued for Clark who was later arrested by patrol deputies during a disturbance call on Tuesday, May 21, 2013.

Detectives with the Crimes Against Children Unit met with Clark on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at the Pinellas County Jail and she admitted to assisting the victim with prostitution, as well as, receiving a monetary benefit from the acts.
