13-080 Sheriff’s Explorers Participate In Statewide Delegate’s Training And Pistol Competition

What:
Members of the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office Explorer Post 900 recently attended the Florida Association of Police Explorer’s Delegate’s training event and pistol competition.

When:
The Delegate’s training and pistol competition began April 19, 2013 and ended on April 21, 2013.

Where:
The Delegate’s training and pistol competition took place at the Little Big Econ State Forest and the Seminole County Gun Range in Seminole County, Florida.

Why/How:
Thirteen members of the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office Explorer Post 900 participated in the Florida Association of Police Explorer’s Delegate’s training event and pistol competition held in Seminole County, Florida on April 19-21, 2013.  Explorer Posts from around the state met for a full day of training, which included a search and rescue practical exercise held at the Little Big Econ State Forest.  Over 100 explorers participated in the search and rescue exercise that simulated an airplane crash.

The pistol competition was held at the Seminole County Gun Range where Explorer Captain Kyle Hughes won 3rd place in the Sharpshooter Division and Explorer Corporal Kristine Crooks won 2nd place in the Marksman Division.  Explorer Captain Kyle Hughes, Explorer Lieutenant Spencer Shaw, Explorer Sergeant Elizabeth Vogt and Explorer Corporal Kristine Crooks participated in the Team Shooting Event and took 2nd Place Overall.

The Sheriff’s Office is very proud of the efforts of our members of Post 900 during this Delegate’s competition.  These young people have proven that a high level of commitment pays off!  Congratulations Explorer Post 900!
