Arrested for Two-Counts Armed Robbery
Detectives assigned to the Robbery/Homicide Unit have arrested a Pinellas Park man in connection with an armed robbery at an Oldsmar Cleaners. Deputies located the suspect vehicle; the suspect attempted to flee and rammed a deputy cruiser.
Additionally, the suspect is believed responsible for multiple armed burglaries committed over the last two days in various jurisdictions.
Deputies responded to the call of an armed robbery-not in progress at about 3:18 p.m. on April 16, 2013.
The armed robbery occurred at the Sun Country Cleaners located at 3205 Tampa Road in Oldsmar.
According to detectives, the suspect entered the Sun Country Cleaners in Oldsmar armed with a knife. He demanded money from the clerk (both from the business and personally). The clerk complied with the demand and the suspect fled the store in a vehicle and with an undisclosed amount of cash. The robbery was reported through 911 and deputies responded to the scene.
Deputies obtained a vehicle description and began searching for a Mercury Grand Marquis- gold in color. Deputies later located the vehicle at the parking lot of the Coastal Plaza (shopping center) located at Main Street and King Arthur Court in Dunedin. The suspect was observed exiting a store and entering the vehicle. Deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop, at which point deputies say the suspect rammed a deputy cruiser. Deputies used the PIT Maneuver to stop the vehicle and apprehended the suspect. The suspect was driving a stolen vehicle.
The suspect/driver of the vehicle, identified as 46-year-old Michael Roger Bourdeau, was arrested for two-counts of armed robbery. Detectives say additional charges of armed robbery have been placed on the suspect by the St. Petersburg Police Department, Clearwater Police Department, Largo Police Department and Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office. Please contact these law enforcement agencies directly for information on their cases.
Additional charges are forthcoming.
The investigation continues.
