Arrested for 10 counts Sexual Performance by a Child (Possession of Child Pornography) and 1 count Promoting the Sexual Performance by a Child (Distribution of Child Pornography).

The victims depicted in the pornographic material are prepubescent males. Per Florida Statute 119.071(2)(h)1 no further information will be released that would tend to identify the victims.

What:
Detectives assigned to the Crimes Against Children Unit have arrested a suspect for possessing and distributing child pornography after the suspect confessed to downloading and sharing the child pornography via his computer.

When:
The suspect was arrested on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at approximately 8:00a.m.

Where:
The suspect was arrested at his place of residence 801 Main Street, Lot 36, Dunedin.

Why/How:
The arrest of the suspect is the result of an undercover internet investigation. The investigation began on December 20, 2012.

Through their investigation detectives assigned to the Crimes Against Children Unit identified a potential suspect that was sharing child pornography videos via the Internet. Detectives obtained a search warrant which was served at the residence of the suspect on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at approximately 7:00a.m.

The suspect, identified as Lawrence M. Lemieux, was interviewed and admitted to downloading the child pornography on his computer. The computer was found to contain additional videos of prepubescent males engaging in sexual activity.

Lemieux also admitted to knowledge of sharing the files via the internet.

Lemieux was arrested and transported to the Pinellas County Jail.

The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office is a member of the Central Florida Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

The investigation continues.
