What:
Ms. Cristen Rensel has joined the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Public Information Office as a Public Information Specialist. Her primary responsibilities will be as a media liaison, as well as assisting with agency award ceremonies and promoting special events.

Where:
Ms. Rensel will be working in the Sheriff’s Public Information Office with Sgt. David DiSano and Cecilia Barreda.

When:
Ms. Rensel’s employment with the Sheriff’s Office commenced Monday, March 18, 2013.

How/Why:
Ms. Rensel brings a diverse background to the Sheriff’s Public Information Office, having worked with both the news media and law enforcement over the past 7 years. 

Prior to joining the Sheriff’s Office, Ms. Rensel worked as a Video Journalist and Desk Assistant with CNN Turner Broadcasting and as an Associate Producer with WOFL, Fox 35 News. She has also worked as a Child Protective Investigator with the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office. While in college, she was a general assignment intern with WTSP, Channel 10 News and WFTS, ABC Action News, supporting Investigative Reporter, Jackie Callaway.

Cristen holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Mass Communications from the University of South Florida and a Master of Public Administration from Keller Graduate School at Devry University.
