Deputies have arrested a transient man for attempted homicide and aggravated stalking after he broke into the victim’s home and began choking her.  Neighbors witnessed the incident and assisted in holding the suspect until deputies arrived on scene.  The suspect and victim were previously involved in a domestic relationship.

Deputies responded to the call just before 6:00 p.m. on Friday, December 7, 2012.

Deputies responded to 3801 58th Avenue North, Lot 21 in St. Petersburg.

According to deputies, the suspect, 47-year-old Kevin Manzoli, gained access to Theresa Sais’ home by punching out a window of the front door. Once inside, Manzoli began choking the victim and made threatening comments that he was going to kill her. Neighbors saw and heard what was going on;  pulled the suspect off the victim; and held the suspect until deputies arrived on scene.

Sais sustained minor injuries.

Deputies say two days ago, Manzoli made multiple phone calls and sent text messages to Sais stating that he was going to kill her. The two had previously been involved in a domestic relationship (Sais is Manzoli’s ex-girlfriend) .

Manzoli was arrested for attempted homicide, aggravated stalking /two-way communication violation.

Manzoli had just been released from Pinellas County Jail on December 3, 2012 after serving time for a misdemeanor domestic battery related charge.

The investigation continues.
