13-233 Ohio Woman Killed After She Falls Out Of Electric Vehicle

What:
Deputies assigned to the Major Accident Investigation Team are investigating an incident in which a woman was killed after she fell out of an electric vehicle. She and her husband were traveling in the vehicle in Redington Beach.

When:
The incident occurred at about 5:56 p.m. on Saturday, October 26, 2013.

Where:
The incident occurred on Gulf Boulevard at 162nd Avenue in Redington Beach.

Why/How:
According to investigators, the couple was traveling soutbound on Gulf Boulevard in a 2002 Gem electric road vehicle. Deputies say that as the driver, 68-year-old Larry Taylor, was making a left turn onto 162nd Avenue, his wife 68-year-old Patricia Taylor fell out of the vehicle. She sustained injuries to her head. Taylor was pronounce deceased at the scene.

It is unknown at this time if alcohol was a factor in the crash.

Taylor was not wearing a seatbelt.

Gulf Boulevard north and southbound was shut down from the time of the crash until about 10:30 p.m. on October 26th, 2013.

The investigation continues.
