What: In an effort to reduce DUI related injuries, law enforcement will conduct another sobriety checkpoint this Friday.
Where: 3655 Tampa Road, Oldsmar FL (Lockheed Martin)
When: Friday September 28th 2012 from 10:00 p.m. to Saturday September 29th 2012 at 3:00 a.m.
In an effort to reduce DUI related injuries, deputies will continue to conduct sobriety checkpoints in Pinellas County. The sobriety checkpoints will be conducted once a month at various locations throughout the county.
Pinellas County Deputies will conduct a DUI Checkpoint this Friday, September 28th 2012 starting at 10:00 p.m. They will be located at 3655 Tampa Road, Oldsmar FL (Lockheed Martin). At the checkpoint, Patrol, Community Policing, K-9 and Narcotics deputies will be on the lookout for alcohol and drug impaired drivers. Members of the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Crash Investigations Unit, the Sheriff’s Citizen Patrol and Explorer Post 900 will assist with non-enforcement related tasks.
Along with impaired drivers, deputies and officers will be looking for driver license, registration, insurance, and equipment violations.
The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office Mobile Command Bus will be used for breath testing and the processing of arrested individuals.
This Friday’s checkpoint is dedicated to Virginia Cantlon. Virginia was involved in a crash due to the actions of an impaired driver on November 6th 2006. She died on November 28th 2006 as the result of injuries sustained during the crash. The crash was investigated by the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office.
