Pinellas County Sheriff’s Robbery /Homicide Detectives
What: Pinellas Sheriff Bob Gualtieri announced today, August 23, 2012, that Eddie Jonathan Todd Walker was arrested by members of the US Marshals Fugitive Task Force in Lithonia, Georgia – just outside of Atlanta at around 11:00 a.m. today. Walker was arrested without incident, and is in the DeKalb County Jail.
Walker was being sought on a First Degree Murder warrant following the April 5, 2012 shooting death of Terrence Bernar Thomas. The victim was found in the street near 703 Patterson Street in Largo. He was shot once in the head.
When: Walker was arrested at 11:00 a.m. today, Thursday, August 23, 2012.
Where: Members of the US Marshals Fugitive Task Force found Walker at an apartment located at 1007 Amanda Drive, Building 1000, Lithonia, Georgia.
How/Why: On August 13th, Sheriff Gualtieri announced a reward of $10,000 for information leading to the arrest of Walker, who had slipped though deputies’ perimeter the previous week. Sheriff Gualtieri said five unproductive tips were received, but that homicide detectives worked to locate Walker through other investigative information and electronic surveillance techniques to include monitoring cell phones.
The information led the Marshals Fugitive Task Force to an apartment near Lithonia, where Walker was arrested without incident.
The investigation continues, however, Sheriff Gualtieri said it is possible that charges could be brought on others connected to Walker for assisting him with housing and transportation while he fled authorities.
