What:     Pinellas County Sheriff Bob Gualtieri and members of the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office have extended their deepest sympathy and condolences to the family of Army Staff Sergeant Matthew Steven Sitton, who was killed in Afghanistan on August 2, 2012.

Sgt. Sitton’s parents, Steve and Cheryl Sitton, are members of the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office.

The remains of Sgt. Sitton will arrive at MacDill AFB at approximately 10:10 a.m., Friday, August 10, 2012.

A family motorcade, escorted by the Pinellas and Hillsborough Sheriff’s Office deputies, will depart from the west side of the Pinellas Sheriff’s complex at around 8:00 a.m., and proceed over the Gandy Bridge to MacDill to receive the remains.

The motorcade will return to Pinellas County around 11:30 a.m., via the Howard Frankland Bridge and proceed on Ulmerton Rd., pass the Sheriff’s Office, to Indian Rocks Rd. and then north to the Hubbell Funeral Home located at 499 Indian Rocks Rd. North, Belleair Bluffs.  

In a demonstration of support and respect, PCSO members and citizens will gather in front of the PCSO Administration Building, at the 49th Street intersection and elsewhere along the return motorcade route.

When:    The escorted motorcade will leave the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office complex at about 8:00 a.m. The motorcade will re-enter Pinellas County at around 11:30 a.m.

Where:   The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office is located at 10750 Ulmerton Rd., Largo.

How/Why:    The Pinellas Sheriff’s Office will also assist during the funeral of Army Sgt. Matt Sitton, set for 1:00 p.m., Saturday, August 11th at the First Baptist Church of Indian Rocks located at 12685 Ulmerton Rd.
