When:  The incident occurred between 10:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. on 06-16-2012


Detectives assigned to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office Crimes Against Children Unit have arrested a Largo woman (Debra Barberee) for Child Neglect and Violation of Probation.

Detectives were called to All Children’s Hospital yesterday reference a 14 month old child with Methadone in his system.  Through their investigation, detectives learned that Barberee was aware that the child who was in her care, had ingested Methadone but failed to summon medical assistance for several hours.

Upon the arrival of medical personnel, the child was unresponsive and not breathing.  The child was transported to Mease Countryside Hospital and later transferred to All Children’s Hospital where he is listed in stable condition.

Barberee was on probation for Possession of a Controlled Substance until 08-13-2013.
