13 members from the Patrol Operations and Detention and Corrections Bureaus will be graduating from Spanish Language for Deputies Level II course.

What: The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office is recognizing members who have completed Level II of Spanish for Law Enforcement with a graduation ceremony.

This is the third year that the Sheriff’s Office has offered Spanish language courses to its members.

The course is tailored specifically to the needs of Law Enforcement and was established in an effort to better serve the growing Hispanic population of Pinellas County.

Where: The ceremony will be held at the Administrative Support Building, Classroom 4 located on the second floor at 14500 49th Street North in Clearwater.

When: The ceremony will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 14, 2011.

The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office is recognizing 13 members who have successfully completed Spanish For Law Enforcement Level 2.

The graduation of the group highlights the Sheriff’s Office continuing commitment to a program that has been tailored to the specific needs of Law Enforcement; and was designed in an effort to better serve the Spanish speaking community of Pinellas County.

The Sheriff’s Office plans to continue the program next fall with at least 25 new members to begin Spanish Level 1; and two Spanish Level 2 classes.

The course originally began as a year-long program and has expanded and evolved into a two-year long curriculum.
