12-140 Man Charged In Sexual Battery Of Intellectually Disabled Victim

Who:

Suspect Arrested -

Shadeek Allie Shakoor

DOB: 5/1/65

Address: 1014 Michigan Drive – Dunedin

Charge: Sexual Battery – Victim Mentally Disabled

What:  Test results on evidence were returned today in an alleged Sexual Battery of a female victim which occurred in December 2011. The results confirmed a suspect already established by Sheriff’s Robbery/Homicide detectives. The suspect was arrested this afternoon, Thursday, June 7th , at his home without incident.

Where: The Sexual Battery took place at a location in the Dunedin area. The address will not be provided.  The suspect was arrested at his address today.

When: The Sexual Battery occurred some time between December 9-11, 2011.

How/Why:  According to detectives, the victim was with friends at a local mall in December when she was approached by a man who engaged her in conversation. Detectives advise that the victim is an adult, and her intellectual disability is apparent.

Detectives report that the suspect asked for the victim’s name, phone number and address, which she provided.  Within a few days, Shakoor allegedly contacted the victim at night, by knocking on the bedroom window of her home and asked her to come out to watch TV with him. She reportedly left her home to join him without telling anyone. What reportedly followed were repeated incidents of sexual battery, until she left the location where he took her, and she called a family member to pick her up.

She was immediately taken to the hospital and the Sheriff’s Office was called. Evidence taken from her clothing was processed and tested. The results obtained and other evidence established the suspect for arrest.

Detectives are concerned the suspect may have victimized other females with intellectual disabilities. Anyone having any information on Shadeek Shakoor is asked to call Detective Amy Plourde with the Sheriff’s Robbery/Homicide Unit at 727-582-6200.

The investigation continues.

A booking photo will be available on “Who’s In Jail” as soon as the suspect is processed at the Jail.
