12-133 Marine Unit Releases Results Of Memorial Day Weekend Enforcement

The Sheriff’s Office Marine Unit has released the results of the Memorial Weekend Enforcement.

The Marine Unit maintained a high profile over the Memorial Day Weekend, beginning on Friday night, May 25, 2012  and continuing through midnight on Monday, May 28, 2011.

Pinellas County waterways.

Marine Unit deputies responded to multiple incidents throughout the holiday weekend to include several water rescue calls which ended with no injuries or deaths, and one boating accident with minor injuries. A summary of the proactive enforcement and other activity is listed below.

The purpose of the weekend’s campaign and enforcement effort was to reduce or eliminate injuries and deaths associated with holiday traffic and boating crashes in Pinellas County.
