What:  The Violent Crime Task Force arrested three suspects after a brief pursuit in south St. Petersburg last night

Where:  3810 18th Avenue South
St. Petersburg, FL

When:  The incident occurred on 5/25/12 at approximately 11:30 p.m.

Members of the Violent Crime Task Force (Pinellas County Sheriff’s Deputies in conjunction with St. Petersburg Police Officers) arrested three individuals last night after they rammed into a police cruiser, then fled the scene.

Task Force members originally tried to stop the 2012 Chevrolet Camaro Larry Mosely was driving near 3810 18th Ave South in St. Petersburg.  The vehicle fled the traffic stop and intentionally struck the police cruiser that task force members were driving.  The camaro was unable to negotiate a turn at 18th Avenue South and 49th Street and crashed into a light pole, then a tree in the grass median on the west side of 49th Street.

Mosely fled the crash scene on foot but was apprehended by K-9 Deputies a short distance away.

The other passengers in the vehicle were arrested at the crash site.

Task force members located the following items in the vehicle:

-Smith and Wesson 9mm handgun that was listed as stolen
-3.5 grams of Crack Cocaine
-10 grams of marijuana

Law enforcement personnel in the damaged cruiser were not injured.
