Arrested for three-counts sexual battery; and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
The victim is a 15 year-old female not known to the suspect. Per Florida Statute 119, no further information will be released that would tend to identify the minor victim.
What: Detectives assigned to the Crimes Against Children Unit have arrested a Palm Harbor man after he met a 15 year old girl by a Palm Harbor residential neighborhood pool. The suspect provided alcoholic beverages to the minor and then invited her back to his residence, where he sexually battered her.
Where: The crime occurred at a private residence in Palm Harbor.
When: The suspect was arrested on May 24, 2012.
The crime occurred at about 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 20, 2012.
According to detectives, the victim, a 15 year old girl, met the suspect now identified as 22-year-old Andrew Christopher Davis-Burton by the residential pool of a Palm Harbor neighborhood. Davis-Burton gave the girl alcoholic beverages by the pool and invited her back to his residence.
The victim agreed to go with the suspect to his home. While there, he provided the victim with more alcoholic beverages. He then forcefully removed her swimsuit and sexually battered her three times. Davis-Burton then forced her to clean herself up, before allowing her to leave the residence.
The victim reported the crime to her grandmother, who in turn contacted the Sheriff’s Office. Crimes Against Children detectives responded and began their investigation.
Davis-Burton was located on the afternoon of May 24th, 2012 in a home in Oldsmar and was arrested for three-counts sexual battery and for contributing to the delinquency of a minor. He was subsequently transported to the Pinellas County Jail without further incident.
