What:  Deputies have released the results of the 7th Operation Medicine Cabinet Event.

Where:  The event was held in 14 locations throughout the county to include:

When:  The event was held from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. April 28, 2011.


The 7th Operation Medicine Cabinet collected a total of 758.18 pounds of prescription medications. The four hour event was held at 14 locations throughout the county and had the participation of 9 law enforcement agencies in all.

The event was held in conjunction with the DEAs National Take Back Day.

According to deputies the breakdown for collections was as follows:

Pinellas SO – 113.77 pounds

Clearwater PD – 381 pounds

Largo PD – 38.25 pounds

Pinellas Park PD – 35.12 pounds

Treasure Island PD – 2.14 pounds

Gulfport PD – 8.0 pounds

St. Pete Beach PD – 13.4 pounds

Tarpon Springs PD – 12.5 pounds

St. Petersburg PD – 154 pounds

Deputies would like to thank LiveFree Coalition personnel, the Narcotics Strategic Diversion Task Force Investigators, participating law enforcement agencies and the North & South County CPO’s for their assistance in a successful operation.
