12-083 Sheriff’s Office Hosts “Take Our Daughters And Sons To Work Day”

What:  The Sheriff’s Office is hosting a day long program of presentations and educational activities for the children of agency members as part of the annual “Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day”.  Children ages 8 to 14 have been invited to participate.

Where:  The event will be held at the Jail Complex (Mini II), located at 14400 49th Street N, Clearwater, FL 33762

When:  “Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day” will be held from 5:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 26, 2012.

How/Why:  

The Sheriff’s Office is hosting a day long program of presentations and educational activities for the children of agency members as part of the annual “Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day”. 

The event is an opportunity for children of agency members to be exposed to the various professional vocations at the Sheriff’s Office. Children ages 8 to 14 have been invited to register and participate.

A BBQ cookout sponsored by Sand Pearl Resort, Clearwater Beach will be provided.

Children may begin checking in as early as 5:30 a.m.at the drop-off-site (Pinellas County Jail, Mini II).  Sheriff Bob Gualtieri will greet the children at 8:15 a.m.

Some of the highlights include presentations from the K-9 Unit, Training Division, Forensics, MADD, Crime Stoppers, Live Safe and the Corrections Response Team (CRT).

Special Operations vehicles will be on display.
