Pit-Bull is a 90 pound male named Big Red

What:  Deputies initially responded to an assist a citizen call at a private residence in Largo, reference a dispute between two sisters. When deputies arrived on scene, the pit bull had attacked a friend of one of the sisters.

Where:  Deputies responded to a private residence located at 13301 Helm Street in Largo.

When:  Deputies responded at about 10:48 a.m. on Wednesday, October 28, 2009.

How/Why:  

Deputies initially responded to an assist a citizen call at a private residence in Largo, reference a dispute between two sisters. When deputies arrived on scene, the pit bull had attacked a friend of one of the sisters.

Deputies responded to the private residence located at 13301 Helm Street in Largo at about 10:48 a.m. on Wednesday, October 28, 2009.

According to deputies the sisters identified as Ofera Alon and Katherine Coleman, where involved in a dispute in which Alon wanted Coleman to vacate the premises.
 
Deputies say Alon contacted 38-year-old, Jeffrey Bellhorn to assist Coleman, who is the owner of the pit-bull, in removing her belongings from the premises. As Bellhorn was assisting inside the home, the pit-bull who was also inside the home, attacked him and dragged him outside the residence.

Bellhorn was transported by ambulance to Bayfront Medical Center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. He was reportedly injured in the jaw/face area.

The dog a 90-pound pit-bull, named Big Red was subsequently seized by Animal Services.
