Deputies are investigating a crash into a private residence in Dunedin. The crash occurred at about 10:40 p.m. on Monday, October 19, 2009 at a private residence located at 442 Dogwood Court in Dunedin.

According to deputies the driver of the vehicle was headed northbound on Live Oak Drive when he struck a palm tree located at 400 Live Oak Drive. The driver continued on, turning west onto Dogwood Lane, where he entered the driveway and crashed into the north end of a duplex located at 442 Dogwood Court in Dunedin.

Neighbors called 911 and deputies responded.

Deputies say that when they arrived on scene, the driver of the vehicle had already backed the vehicle out of the home and exited the vehicle.

32-year-old Douglas Lance III, identified as the driver, was transported by ambulance to Mease Dunedin Hospital as a precaution for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

No other injuries were reported.

Lance lives in the duplex where the crash occurred. The residence sustained some structural damage.

The investigation continues.
