What:  Pinellas Sheriff's deputies have assisted in the arrest of an Illinois woman who allegedly shot and killed her adult granddaughter's estranged husband in Illinois, then left the state.

The incident occurred in November 2008, in Ashland, Illinois.

Shirley Skinner was arrested without incident late today while exiting a Clearwater area restaurant.

Where:  Shirley Skinner was taken into custody without incident as she and other family members walked out of restaurant on Ft. Harrison in Clearwater.

When:  Shirley Skinner was arrested on an Illinois warrant around 5 p.m., today, Monday, October 5, 2009.

How/Why:  

Detectives with the Pinellas County Sheriff's Investigative Operations Bureau have assisted investigators with the Illinois State Police in the arrest on a warrant of a 74 year old female murder suspect.

The suspect is identified as Shirley Skinner, and she was arrested in connection with the shooting death of her granddaughter's estranged husband, Steven Watkins, in November of 2008 in Ashland, Illinois.

Skinner was arrested without incident around 5:00 p.m., Monday, October 5, 2009, as she and other family members exited a restaurant in Clearwater.

The other family members with her are identified as:

Jennifer Watkins - Granddaughter of Shirley Skinner
DOB: 9/8/78

Sidney Watkins - Daughter of Jennifer Watkins
Approx. 1 year old

Joshua Webster - Brother of Jennifer Watkins, and grandson of Shirley Skinner
DOB: 3/1/83
