New Time Schedule In Effect To Make Reservations For Video Visitation At Jail,  And Mobile Video Visitation Bus Adds A Stop

What:  Citizens who wish to schedule a video visitation with a jail inmate now have an expanded time frame to make that reservation for their visit.

The reservation time change affects citizens who visit at the Video Visitation Center on 49th Street or who conduct their visit aboard the Mobile Visitation Bus.

In addition, the Mobile Video Visitation Bus has added another stop to its schedule. Each Friday the Bus will be available at the YMCA Omni Center, located at 1801 119th Street, Largo.

Where:  Video Visitation is conducted at the Visitation Center at the Pinellas County Jail, located at 14500 49th Street North.

The Mobile Visitation Bus is at the James B. Sanderlin Center on Wednesdays for citizens to conduct their inmate video visitations. The Sanderlin Center is located at 2335 22nd Avenue South, St. Petersburg.

The Bus schedule now has a new stop. The Mobile Visitation Bus will be at the YMCA Omni Center on Fridays. The Omni Center is located at 1801 119th Street, Largo.

When:  The new reservation time schedule is effective today, September 9, 2009.

How/Why:  

Citizens wishing to conduct a video visitation with Pinellas County Jail inmates now have more visitation options.

The time frame to make visitation reservations has now been expanded.

To make a reservation to conduct a visitation at the Visitation Center on 49th Street, citizens can call 464-6842, from 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., seven a days a week.

To make a reservation to schedule a visitation aboard the Mobile Video Visitation Bus, citizens should call 453-7637 from 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.

The Mobile Video Visitation Bus is stationed at the James B. Sanderlin Center every Wednesday, from 12:30 p.m. until the last visit ends at about 7:15 p.m.

The Bus will now travel to the YMCA Omni Center on Fridays to be available for citizens registered to conduct an inmate visitation. The Bus will also be at the Omni Center from 12:30 p.m. until the last visit ends at approximately 7:15 p.m.

The changes in the reservation hours and the addition of another Mobile Video Visitation Bus location are just the latest in a series of adjustments to the inmate visitation program to make inmate visitation times more convenient for the public and more efficient for inmate management and corrections staffing at the Jail.
