What:  Detectives assigned to the Homicide Unit are investigating a Palm Harbor couple's death as a murder-suicide. Detectives say both individuals sustained lethal gunshot wounds. It is believed that Mr. Aliozakis shot his wife first, then turned the gun on himself.

Both were in failing health - no note was found.

Where:  The bodies were found in their residence located at 2059 Sandpiper Drive in Palm Harbor.

When:  The bodies of the couple were found at about 10:00 p.m. on Monday, August, 24, 2009.

How/Why:  

Detectives assigned to the Homicide Unit are investigating a Palm Harbor couple's death as a murder-suicide. The bodies of the couple were found at about 10:00 p.m. on Monday, August, 24, 2009 in their residence located at 2059 Sandpiper Drive in Palm Harbor.

According to detectives, family members were trying to get in touch with the couple throughout the day with no success.

The couple's son went over to the house with a friend on the evening of August 24th, to check on their well-being and discovered the bodies of 86-year-old John Aloizakis and his wife 86-year-old Dorothy Aloizakis inside the home. The son called 911.

The Sheriff's Office responded.

The investigation continues.
