Armed Robber Is Targeting Businesses On The Beaches

Who: Unknown Armed Robbery Suspect:
White male
50-60 years old
Unshaven - salt/pepper gray stubbly beard
5' 8" and about 160 pounds
Has been seen wearing a dark zippered jacket with a hood - which he uses to help conceal his face. The suspect has also been seen wearing tan slacks or shorts with this jacket.
He could be driving a dark color, older model Jeep.
He has been armed with a black handgun - no further description.
What: Pinellas County Sheriff's Robbery detectives are looking for a male suspect who has robbed the cashiers at three beach area businesses at gunpoint. The robberies began on August 2nd and the last one was as recently as Thursday, August 13th.

When: The three robberies occurred between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. on the reported days.
How/Why: Detectives say in all cases the suspect entered the businesses, went to the cash register and demanded the cashier open the register drawer. The victims said they saw a gun, or that a gun was implied. The suspect was also observed to produce the gun from a zippered portfolio type briefcase.
No one has been hurt in these robberies.
