What:  A suspect believed responsible for two Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office jurisdiction bank robberies was arrested in Hillsborough County.  (Inquiries about the arrest should be directed to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.)

Where:  The suspect was arrested in Hillsborough County.

The robbery on September 16th occurred at the Anderen Bank located at 3412 Eastlake Road in Palm Harbor.

The robbery on September 27th occurred at the Fifth Third Bank located at 1703 McMullen Booth Road in Safety Harbor.

When:  The suspect was arrested by HCSO this morning October 3, 2008.

The two bank robberies occurred on Tuesday, September 16, 2008; and on Saturday September 27, 2008.

How/Why:  

A suspect believed responsible for two Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office jurisdiction bank robberies was arrested in Hillsborough County today.  (Inquiries about the arrest should be directed to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.)  

 

Detectives responded to HCSO to interview the suspect and say that the suspect, identified as Jeffrey Merritt of Tampa has admitted to both Pinellas County jurisdiction robberies which occurred on Tuesday, September 16, 2008 at the Anderen Bank located at 3412 Eastlake Road in Palm Harbor; and on Saturday September 27, 2008 at the Fifth Bank located at 1703 McMullen Booth Road in Safety Harbor. The suspect was armed in both.

 

The case has been referred to the State Attorney’s Office.
