14-211 Detectives Seek Public’s Assistance In Identifying A Clearwater Theft Suspect

What:
Detectives assigned to the Burglary and Pawn Unit are seeking the public’s assistance in locating a suspect who recently stole a wallet from a victim’s purse while she was shopping at a Clearwater grocery story. The suspect then used the victim’s credit cards at a Clearwater Target and Walmart store.

When:
The suspect stole the victim’s wallet on Saturday, August 9, 2014 at approximately 12:50 p.m.

Where:
The suspect stole the victim’s wallet out of her purse while she was shopping at the Aldi grocery store located at 24756 US Highway 19 North in Clearwater. The suspect used the victim’s credit cards at a Clearwater Walmart and Target.

Why/How:
Pinellas County detectives are seeking the public’s assistance in locating a theft suspect who recently stole a wallet from a victim’s purse while she was shopping at a Clearwater grocery story.

According to detectives, the suspect entered the Aldi grocery store located at 24756 US Highway 19 North in Clearwater on Saturday, August 9, 2014 at approximately 12:50 p.m. The suspect was observed walking near the victim, reaching in the victim’s purse and taking her wallet when she was not looking.

The suspect then used the victim’s credit cards at a Clearwater Target and Walmart store.

The suspect is described as a light skinned black female with long dark hair. She was last seen wearing solid color scrub pants and a printed scrub top.

The investigation continues.
