The members of the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office take great pride in providing progressive, professional, and cost-effective law enforcement services to our residents and visitors. We are committed to using cutting edge technology to insure that our community stays safe and that we have a great quality of life throughout our county.

The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office provides patrol and investigative services; operates the Pinellas County Jail; security for our courts; School Resource Deputies in the Sheriff’s primary service area; and a variety of opportunities for citizens to volunteer with our organization.

Countywide services include sexual predator and offender tracking, Child Protection Investigation, prisoner transportation, marine patrol services and helicopter support for all Pinellas law enforcement agencies.

We have taken the lead in battling the illegal sale of prescription drugs and have received national attention for our efforts to shut down pill mills in Pinellas County.

Our website will give you a glimpse of our criminal justice operations, our public service initiatives, and let you know who to contact if you have questions. Your input is welcome and your support is appreciated.

When To Call

In Florida, simply dialing 9-1-1 in an emergency connects you to EMS, law enforcement, and the fire rescue.

The 9-1-1 system is for emergencies only – serious vehicle crashes, critical medical situations, crimes in progress, or fire.

Do not call 9-1-1 for non emergency transportation.

If you are unsure if your situation is a true emergency, officials recommend that you let the call taker determine if you need emergency help.
