Why/How:
Largo Police officers have arrested a non-certified employee of the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office following a domestic related dispute. 

According to a Largo Police Department arrest affidavit, 35-year-old Joshua Volz engaged in a verbal argument with his spouse at their Largo residence. The argument became physical in nature when Volz struck and choked his wife.

The arrest affidavit indicated the victim sustained minor injuries to her face and head.

Volz was arrested by Largo Police officers at about 3:24 p.m. on Tuesday, July 18, 2017. He was transported to the Pinellas County Jail and charged with one count of domestic battery and one count of domestic battery by strangulation. 

Volz is employed at the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office as a non-certified, Criminal Justice Specialist, assigned to the Department of Detention and Corrections.

Volz was hired by the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office on October, 20, 2006.
