What:
In an effort to reduce DUI related injuries, deputies will conduct a Wolf Pack operation in Pinellas County over the Labor Day weekend.

Where:
Deputies will monitor traffic throughout Pinellas County and will be on the lookout for impaired drivers.

When:
The operation will begin at 7 p.m., Friday, September 2, 2016 and continue until 5 a.m., Saturday, September 3, 2016. 

How/Why:
Pinellas County deputies, in conjunction with police departments in Belleair, Clearwater, Gulfport, Indian Shores, Largo, Pinellas Park, St. Petersburg, Tarpon Springs, Treasure Island, and G4S Prisoner Transportation, will conduct a DUI Wolf Pack operation. They will maintain a proactive profile over the Labor Day holiday weekend on the highly-traveled roadways of Pinellas County.

The operation will begin Friday night and continue into early Saturday morning.

This operation is part of the Pinellas County Sheriff's on-going commitment to reduce deaths, injuries, and property damage associated with traffic crashes related to impaired driving.  The goal of the Wolf Pack is to educate people and create public awareness about the dangers of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and any chemical or controlled substances.

Mothers Against Drunk Driving (M.A.D.D.), Remove Intoxicated Drivers USA Inc. (RID), and the Suncoast Safety Council will be supporting law enforcement during the operation.

The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office will be conducting Wolf Packs and DUI checkpoints continuously throughout the year.
