What:
Deputies assigned to the Major Accident Investigation Team are investigating a single car crash  involving a vehicle hitting a wooden utility pole.

When:
The crash occurred at about 4:04 a.m. on July 20, 2016.

Where:
The crash occurred at 18300 Block of Gulf Blvd in Indian Shores.

Why/How:

Ronald Bartlett was traveling southbound on Gulf Blvd when for an unknown reason left the roadway to the right and drove into a wooden utility pole on the west side of the roadway. Bartlett was the only person in the vehicle and no other vehicles were involved.

Bartlett sustained life-threatening injuries and was flown to Bayfront Medical Center for medical treatment.

The investigation continues.
